Positions with Nighthoops:   Former coach/Current Referee

Inderjit’s education and occupational endeavors thus far have been fitness related. He is currently finishing his degree in Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia.  He hopes to continue working in the fitness industry, while still having the opportunity to work with youth in the community. Night Hoops has allowed him to grow as an individual, with the many experiences coming from both coaching and refereeing. Being a part of the organization has further confirmed his view that basketball is more than just winning and losing; basketball is about coming together and having fun, regardless of what the outcome will be.

Inderjit began coaching with Nighthoops as a way to reach out to youth in the city, and give those individuals a positive option late at night on weekends.  Once he realized he couldn't commit the time for coaching, he still wanted to be a part of the program, so transitioned to refereeing, where he still feels he can make a difference. He stays with the program because he’s seen it give the kids an opportunity to play the sport they love in a fun, safe and enjoyable atmosphere, and he’s glad to be a part of it.
