Years with the program: Coached 2004 to 2006, and 2008/2009

David graduated from Sir Charles Tupper back in 1995, and went on to complete a Recreation Management program at Langara College. He now works as a Youth worker assistant at Champlain Community Centre. His interest are biking, working out, and reading sports books and mysteries. David also loves watching and attending sporting events like basketball and football.
David loves to be able to combine his passion for basketball and interest in working with youth while coaching with Nighthoops. He believes the program gives him the ability to help lead youth in a positive direction, and feels like it’s a great fit for the where he sees his career going, in the direction of a youth programmer. His favorite thing about Nighthoops is the Finals wrap up. You get to see all the team get together and talk about the season and eat pizza. And of course you get to watch the finals! Since coaching with the program, David has learned that you don’t have to be a million dollar athlete to be a role model to youth. As long as you put in the time and effort, the youth will respect you for you.
