Years with Night Hoops: 2

Sites: Britannia Junior Girls, Langara Family YMCA Junior Girls

This is my second year with the Night Hoops program and I love being involved with it . Besides playing basketball all throughout high school, I have been coaching basketball since grade 12. I have had the opportunity to coach all levels of girls basketball from bantam to senior. A long side from coaching and working, I am a full time 3rd year human kinetics student at UBC. After completing my bachelors degree I hope to complete my masters in Occupational Therapy.

I am extremely passionate about coaching. I love having the opportunity to help girls develop fundamental skills of basketball as well as to develop individual relationships with them. I think its important to have this program because it gives youth a chance to do something constructive on the weekends. They get a chance to be active, experience team work and develop lifelong friendships. This program allows them to experience the fun side as well as the competitive side. I love when the youth still show up to practices if they know they're going to miss the game or vice versa just to support their team. This program really gives them a chance to show how committed they are to basketball and being part of a team. I hope to stay involved with the program for many, many years!
