Oliver is 1st generation Chinese Born and raised in Canada, and has studied business and criminology at university . He has volunteered as a member of the Abbotsford police department, and his  greatest accomplishments have been planning and raising money for various charity organizations.  Oliver also takes pride in being an assistant to a senior boys high school basketball team last year.  Oliver enjoys learning new things, and believes that challenging yourself and getting  out of your comfort zone and into a level of uncertainty  is of utmost importance,  so that you can learn and grow from adversity.

When an opportunity like Night Hoops came along, where you have the ability to affect, inspire, motivate, and teach lessons which youth can in turn apply to their own lives, Oliver felt like he just couldn't pass it up. He believes that Basketball is a game which closely resembles real life, and that important life lessons are plentiful.  These include being gracious in defeat, learning from failure, not giving up, persevering, working together for a greater good, of a team,  learning how to interact with others, and treating others with respect.  His favorite thing about Night Hoops is how selfless the program strives to be, a program that allows teens to play for free, in a safe, organized environment. The biggest impact of Night Hoops, one that gives Oliver the most joy would have to be watching the whole team develop not just skill sets needed for the game of basketball, but seeing them mature and develop into fine young men.
