Mr. Steve Anderson
Program Manager
Night Hoops Basketball
Dear Mr. Anderson:
This letter is to say thank you for your program “Night Hoops Basketball”.
I am a parent of a 15 year old girl who loves basketball. Eight years ago, we moved here to Vancouver from a small community north of Terrace. About seven years ago, we watched our daughter play basketball for the first time with some of her male friends at the 3 on 3. We were impressed with her and got her signed up for RBL and ever since she has been playing. Needless to say our daughter is one who loves basketball and her and her male friends always found outside basketball courts in the neighborhood to play until our neighborhood stopped allowing them to play after a certain time.
Last year she got a call from some of her male friends to go and play basketball late at night somewhere and I believed her and let her go. I drove and dropped her off and one night. She came home on cloud nine, full of energy, excitement, confidence, and proud of herself as she showed the things she won – new basketball, new runners, and some other things, naturally we were proud of her.
We appreciate programs such as yours, because we know our daughter is in a safe place doing what she loves doing. I see the positive role models you provide and the acceptance you provide the young people which builds confidence, equality, skill building and so much more.
Thank you and keep up the good work!
Sincerely,
Sherry Small
