Years with Night Hoops: 3

Chad currently works for the Vancouver Parks Board in several different capacities, including Park Ranger of Sports Fields and Special Events. In addition, Chad runs youth recreation programs at Thunderbird Community Centre, and monitors special events hosted at the Roundhouse Community and Arts Centre.

Chad graduated from SFU with a degree in History with a Middle Eastern Concentration, and played 3 years of college basketball at what is now Kwantlen Polytechnic University. He is also a fully trained fire fighter who graduated from the Arkansas Fire Academy.

Chad is very proud to see how Night Hoops is growing and believes the positive outcomes of the program are very evident. Chad has a strong understanding of the pressures facing youth today, and believes that sport is one of the most positive outlets for them. He believes that in addition to promoting a healthy lifestyle, it provides opportunities for youth to learn cooperation, teamwork, respect and responsibility. To Chad, it feels great to see personal triumphs shared with teammates and coaches who want to see them succeed. When Chad is driving and youth from the program flag him down to say "what’s up", it shows that the Nighthoops family is tight and we are all helping each other grow in the community.
