Years with Night Hoops: 6

Position with Night Hoops: Past President, Current Board Member

Occupation: Recreation Supervisor at Kensington Community Centre

Booth is a long time Park Board recreation services employee, and has had the pleasure of involvement in sport since he was a young child. Badminton, soccer, baseball, tennis, squash, basketball and volleyball to name a few! Booth has also had the opportunity to be involved in sport coaching and administration around a number of team and individual sports. He is also a paid soccer official. He is the proud father of four adult children, all of whom are currently in university.

Booth believes that Night Hoops will continue to broaden and mature into a life development program through the vehicle of sport, while helping young people connect to the coaches who mentor them. He believes that the program helps with building skills on and off the court, especially life skills like patience, understanding and respect for difference. Not only has Booth been able to help solidify the program, but he’s also been given the opportunity to develop fiscal accountability and connect youth serving agencies to the basketball community and private sector.
