Years with Nighthoops: 4
Position with Nighthoops: Vice President
Occupation: Training Solutions Manager in Org. Dev. With BC Housing
Greg has been involved in sports since a very young age, and has always tried to make time for regular activity since then. As he’s gotten older, he’s realized that it’s not just the physical activity that’s important, but it’s the pro-social aspects of team sports that he also really enjoys. Throughout his time playing organized sports, he’s always known that there were people who gave of their personal time so that he could enjoy the experience. Greg feels that Nighthoops has offered him an opportunity to give back.
Greg first learned about Nighthoops as an employee of the Ministry of Children and Family Development, but became more aware of its mission while working at the Justice Institute of B.C. There, he was given the opportunity to teach new coaches about topics related to working with youth and personal safety. He became connected with Nighthoops when asked about training for the program’s coaches. He sees the program as an excellent opportunity, that offers an accessible and positive experience in sport, and he’s grateful to be a part of it.
